Harry Potter World
This trip was by far one of our favorite trips ever! As huge Harry Potter fans, we were very, very excited to be able to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal Studios which is in Orlando, Florida. Universal Studios consists of two parks, Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios
Hogsmeade and Hogwarts are in Islands of Adventure while Diagon Alley is in Universal Studios. We couldn’t believe how real it all looked. You could even buy wands at Olivanders and attend a wand choosing! Hogsmeade has more rides while Diagon Alley has more shops, but has the best ride (Escape from Gringotts). You have to ride the Escpe from Gringotts atleast once! The front seats are the best, but its also fun to see people’s reactions when you sit behind them. Although both were really cool we spent more time in Diagon Alley than in Hogsmeade. You can get ice cream from Flourish and Blotts, buy your own wand, purchase candy from Honeydukes, or even visit Weasley Wizard Wheezes! This is truly a Harry Potter fan’s dream!! 🙂 We think that anyone who likes Harry Potter needs to make at least one trip to truly experience the wizardig world! This dragon was really cool! It actually spit fire about every ten minutes! Every time we thought it was going to go off we would run out to the street to watch it. Most of the people who were there would stop and get out there phones/cameras so that they could get a picture of it. Getting to visit Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes was really cool, too because Fred and George are two of our favorite characters! They had some pretty funny stuff like fever fudge and you-no-poo. 🙂
We neglected to try Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans or a Chocolate Frog (what ind of Harry Potter fans are we?!?), but we did drink quite a bit of Butterbeer. The frozen kind was the best! If we had to describe the flavor of butterbeer we would say that it tasted kind of like butterscotch cream soda. Delicious, right? We certainly thought so! (it makes delicious ice cream!)
Food and water inside the park are really expensive, so we recommend that you bring plenty of snacks and purchase one of the refillable drink cups especially if you drink a lot! It will definitely save you money. Also, we recommend that you visit both Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley at night. They look pretty cool! One last thing we recommend is that you take the Hogwarts express both ways because the experience is a little different depending on which way you are going.
We had so much fun and loved seeing Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, and Diagon Alley in person. It is one of the best experiences ever especially if you love Harry Potter! We highly recommend Universal Studios and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! 🙂
