Twin vs Twin: Lembas Bread
We decided to start a Twin vs. Twin “game” where I (Ashley) pick a recipe and Georgia picks a recipe. Then we’ll make it and decide who wins the recipe “battle”. Here’s our first one:
If you know anything about us, you’ll know that we love Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, and pretty much anything that has to do with Middle Earth. We follow a plethora of Lord of the Rings inspired social media accounts, and our dream is to someday go to New Zealand to visit where they filmed and see the Hobbit holes, but I digress….
What is lembas bread, you ask? Well, in the Lord of the rings movies, it’s an elvish bread that the hobbits take on long journeys, as it is very filling. The only thing that is really known about it is that it is supposed to be brown on the outside and cream colored on the inside. As you can guess, the recipes vary greatly because of this lack of a description. So, our recipes were completely different! The recipe that I picked out was from The Geeky Chef, and Georgia’s recipe was from the Vomiting Chicken blog.
As you can tell in the picture above, the lembas bread left oil splotches on the paper or “leaf” that we wrapped them in, so we wouldn’t recommend wrapping the bread in paper if you want to use them for a party.
