Last week, we were still completely in summer mode, but it’s been feeling more like fall the last couple days and we’re starting to get ready for sweaters, tea, and pie season! This week we thought we’d start fall off right- with a pie! Blueberry Pie to be exact!
If you follow us on Instagram, you know we definitely dropped this pie. We had blueberries EVERYWHERE. It was a disaster. There was blueberries everywhere and once we got those swept up, we realized it was starting to stain the floor. We had to mop the kitchen before we could make it again. Two lessons were learned that day. 1) Don’t try to shove something in the fridge if it won’t fit and 2) We have a really durable pie dish and we should never lose it.
This pie only has five ingredients, minimal effort, and it’s delicious! Blueberry Pie is the perfect combination of summer and fall. It has the fruity flavor that we love in summer while having that pie (and Thanksgiving, yes, we said Thanksgiving- you can curse us later, after you’ve got this pie in the oven!) taste we look forward to every year. The best thing about this pie? We can 100% see Dean Winchester wolfing it down while him and Sam research for their next hunt 😉
In this recipe, you can use either frozen or fresh berries, we used frozen- we had a couple huge bags already there. With the fall coming and fruits going out of season, it’s probably going to be easiest to find them in the freezer section. You can adjust the sugar a little bit to you’re liking, if you want it a little sweeter, add a little more sugar or a little less if you want it a little tarter. We found we liked it best with 1/2 cup, but feel free to change it up a little!
