Cinnamon Chips and Cream Cheese Dip

We’re full swing into football season which means it’s the perfect time to start making ALL the tailgate/game watching foods. That means lots and lots and lots of chips and guacamole! Not that we’re complaining about eating avocados (we mean, who would?), but we thought we’d change the game up a bit this week with some Cinnamon Chips and Cream Cheese Dip. We’ll bring a dessert/something sweet to literally any occasion and football games are no different!

Honestly, we haven’t actually made it to any game watching parties yet this year. Between work and classes we’ve always got something else to be doing. If we’re not working or doing homework, you’ll probably find us passed out, probably slumped over some notes and with an unattractive amount of drool. That doesn’t stop us from watching games though! We normally have a game on in the background while we attempt to work on our homework…

And if there’s football on that means we need a snack, right? So, that’s where these come into play! We’ve been living off sugar, caffeine, and an unhealthy amount of Ramen Noodles, so these fit perfectly with our new diets!

These chips are ridiculously easy to make and they are definitely going to be a crowd pleaser! We used fajita tortillas to make these and they’re the perfect size! You can also use any cream cheese frosting recipe for this, but we used the one from our Fruit Pizza post. Why do we call it cream cheese dip if it’s just frosting, you ask? Well, because that makes it sound less like you’re eating spoonfuls of frosting and more like we’re actually eating real food. Although it doesn’t really matter to us, we’ve been know to buy tubs of frosting at the store and eat it with a spoon, shhhh… we won’t tell if you don’t 😉

Cinnamon Chips and Cream Cheese Dip

Perfect for Football season and easy to make! These cinnamon chips are the perfect side.

  • 10 6-inch tortillas
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 Tbsp cinnamon
  • cream cheese frosting

  1. Heat oil to 350F. While the oil is heating up, cut each tortilla into 8 triangles and mix together the cinnamon and sugar.

  2. Once the oil is heated up, fry the chips about 8-10 at a time, flipping after about 45 seconds to a minute, until the chips are a light golden brown. When you pull them from the fryer, cover in the cinnamon sugar mixture and place them on a baking sheet to cool. Serve with cream cheese dip.
