Nutella-filled Sugar Cookies

How to make a cookie better? Fill it with Nutella! We think that's all you need to know to dive right in to these cookies!

Course Dessert

  • 1 cup butter (2 sticks) room temp.
  • 1 1/2 cups confectioners sugar
  • 1 egg large
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 jar Nutella

  1. Preheat oven to 350F

  2. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

  3. Cream together the butter and powdered sugar. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.

  4. Add in the dry ingredients and mix until combined. Dived the batter in 2, wrap each half in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours

  5. After the dough chills, roll it out on a lightly floured surface until it's about 1/8 inch thick. Using a circle cookie cutter, cut out as many circles as you can. Take half of the circles you've cut out and using a smaller round cutter, cut out the middles

  6. Use the leftover scraps to roll out and make more cookie. Bake the cookie on an unlined sheet for 8-10 minutes, until the bottoms are lightly golden brown.

  7. Once the cookies are cooled, pair up the tops and bottoms. The tops are the cookies with the holes in them and the bottoms are the whole cookies.

  8. On the bottom, place about 1 1/2 tbsp. of Nutella and spread. Don't spread it to the edge or it will come out the sides when you put the top on. Put the tops on and gently press down.
