Hey ya’ll, did you have an amazing Christmas this weekend? We sure did! There was lots and lots and lots of baking, spending time with our family, and eating way too many sweets (but hey, that’s what the holidays are for right??)
What did you bake for Christmas? We made buckeyes, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate crinkle cookies, caramels, oatmeal raisin cookies, peanut butter cookies, and decorated sugar cookies. Whew, that’s a lot!
Now that Christmas is over, that means the New Year is right around the corner. For us, that means, about 3 months of having to cross out 2016 and write the correct year, haha ;). We’re looking forward to traveling a little more next year too! What are you looking forward to in the New Year? Setting any New Year’s resolutions? We don’t usually set resolutions for the New Year, but this year we want to travel more and work on making our blog better for you guys!
So, this week we thought we’d make an easy New Year’s Eve Cupcake. Take these to any New Year’s party and everybody will be so impressed. They are elegant but so easy to make, you’ll be surprised! We also think these would look great with sparklers too! We even went out in search of them but nobody sells them this time of year. So, if you do find them, make sure you take a picture and show us, we’d love to see it!
12 Red Velvet Cupcakes
1 recipe buttercream frosting
1 can of edible gold spray paint
- Make sure not to put the doily’s on until after you have sprayed your cupcakes with the color mist, so you don’t accidentally color them.
- Ice all 12 cupcakes with the white buttercream by putting a dot of frosting in the middle of the cupcake and swirling around the dot to make an ice cream cone shape. Then take the can of color and spray each cupcake evenly with the gold. The more you spray on the darker it will be. We did a moderate amount.
- Immediately after spraying, sprinkle with silver sprinkles.
- Place cupcakes in doily’s and now you have an easy dessert for your party!
We hope you have a great week and an amazing New Year!
