Double Chocolate Chip Cookies

The old Ashley & Georgia can’t come to the phone right now.

Why?

Oh, because their dead. But for real, these cookies virtually killed us, they’re so good! Is anyone tired of these jokes yet? Haha, sorry, we couldn’t resist, we’ve had Taylor’s new songs playing on repeat all week!

It’s starting to feel like fall: the colder weather, the sun slowly starting to set a little earlier, and football season is here. Football in our family has always been a pretty big thing. Our uncle coaches high school football, so (before it gets too cold!) Friday nights are for watching Football, pretty much every Saturday there’s an OSU Buckeyes watching party, and Sundays the tv’s on pretty much all day. And if you’re not a fan of football, well thats okay, go to a party anyway: there’s always good food & who can say no to good food (you can be like us and read while everyone else watches football)? So, now that football season is upon us, we can feel summer slipping right out of our hands and we’re not ready to let it go quite yet (except the humidity, we could do with out that, haha!).

If there was one thing that could make a chocolate chip cookie better, it would be more chocolate right? We’re those people who you’ll find at midnight with the fridge open, pouring chocolate syrup in our mouths. Haha, who are we kidding, we call that lunch.

So, when we were deciding what recipe to post this week, it seemed pretty obvious that we needed to make a chocolate cookie. We didn’t have one on our blog yet! but now we do and the world’s balance has been restored! These cookies are double chocolate-y. It’s a chocolate cookie WITH chocolate chips. How can you say no to that? We couldn’t! (and we don’t think you’ll be able to once you try these! They are a semi-sweet chocolate, not too dark, but not too milk-y, but the perfect chocolate flavor!

For the sustainability of these cookies, you can check out our 4 Ways to Bake Sustainably blog post from a couple of weeks ago, all the ingredients we used are there (plus more tips for you!)

Not only are these cookies delicious, but they are super easy to make & with school having started back up and people being busy with football season and the holiday season *gasp* we know it’s too early to talk about! But is it? We mean our grandma’s almost done with her Christmas shopping! We can’t believe it either, we don’t even start shopping until about the week before *nervous laughter*! But we’re getting ahead of ourselves, you’re just here to make cookies, and now we’ve gone and stressed you out about the Holidays. (PS: Chocolate helps with stress, so just go ahead and make these cookies, they’ll help!) 😉
